- Finally in America!

Blijf op de hoogte en volg Marieke

10 Augustus 2015 | Verenigde Staten, Richmond

After a long 7 hours trip i'm finally in America! I flew with two other Dutch girls. When we finally landed we had to wait for 2 hours because EF forgot us (?) And went to the campus. We were the first one so there was nobody else. They showed us our rooms and of course the ladies building was full and I had to stay in the boys building. After that I chilled with Linde and Nikki and talked to some other exchange students. The next day we had breakfast at 7 so that we could start our "classes" at 8. You did this in a group of 19 people. You learned here how to solve your problems, what you need to do when you can't solve your problem or when you got homesick. In between we had some time to rest, after 4/5 hours speaking and listening to English and being busy you were very tired. At night we had to prepare for EF night. I had a great group so it didn't take long to knew what we wanna do. We decided to do a little act.
The next day we had to eat breakfast at 6 and went finally to NEW YORK CITY!!
New York was awesome we walked and saw a lot. not everything was interesting.
but they hold the best for last TIME SQUARE it was so cool to walk there!
This day was so hot, so all sweaty we went back in the schoolbus, and got a shower. Had something to ate and then it was finally time for EF NIGHT. To be honest it wasn't that fun or special. Watching 17 groups who did almost the same, was not very fun.
After that we had to sleep on the ground. Because the people who go on the bus 6 till 10 could only sleep in their room because they left later. Of course I was on bus 1 and left at 00:45. I didn't got any sleep, and was very sleepy when I arrived in Indiana.
But it was so great so see my host mother And sister for the first time.
After one week i already feeling home. I also started with cheerleading! I was very nervous about that.
I Will start school this tuesday and i'm very excited, my american life will begin!

Love,
Marieke

    Maria:

X Maria
